I am making another point.  Yes, kids brains are different but there is nothing  wrong about letting a kid relax and play some video games.

They get downtime (as do I) but their brains are still forming and something like video games is not relaxing or downtime to them.  My kids entire life is learning and playing. NP but 51. I play video games and board games. I make time to exercise. I read. I work full time, volunteer with Scouts, take DS to events, and fine time to hang and play with DS and DH. It is called balance.

I also play board games and video games with DS, we have a lot of fun playing together. [/quote]

You don’t have a still-forming brain.  You can play as many video games as you want.
