Brown had an incredible admitted student day. Went to several other admitted student days and Brown did the best job by a wide margin. DC cannot wait to be on campus.
Brown was our least favorite. Parents weren’t allowed. And the sessions were the least academic focused of others we attended.
Good for Brown!
+1 We only attended one, at W&M. It was very well done, but I wish parents had a separate session track or were otherwise not allowed to attend sessions with their kid. Some kids had many family members with them. It made it difficult for DD to talk to other kids. I dropped DD off and walked around Colonial W'burg thinking she'd have more fun getting to know people without me there, but no such luck. She still liked the school, but was sad she didn't get to interact with many other kids.
That is interesting bc W&M orientation *does not* include parents with their kids. You move in, orientation starts and your kid is busy. Even in Covid, we moved in, fed her lunch, went to Target, and were given the boot. We spent the night, met her roommate’s family for lunch the next day and then went to the beach for the weekend. There was no in person Parent orientation - all by zoom bc of Covid. This year will hopefully be back in person.
