So both parents are working from home trying to quarantine kids without childcare? If parents have Covid and kids do not, those kids are going to be quarantining for a long time. Their quarantine starts from last exposure so Day 10 of parents having Covid.
This is not accurate if the kids are over 5 years old and vaccinated. The CDC has been revising the guidelines over the past 6-8 months. The showing symptoms is the key factor. We had Omicron in our house in January and then 6 weeks later. We kept testing and 2 consistently tested negative and were allowed to go to school since the showed no symptoms 5 days after exposure plus tested negative.
Pp here. My vaccinated kids didn’t miss any school when one kid got Covid. My unvaccinated preschool child had to quarantine for 5 days and could return to school with a negative PCR. My point was that if kids are young and ages 1 and 3 are young, the kid’s quarantine starts from last exposure to parent and that last exposure won’t start until Day 10 of parents getting Covid.
You are why we’ve had to keep our kids virtual. That’s horrible you sent them back.
Why am I horrible for following school policies? My vaccinated child who had Covid isolated for 6 days and was masked in our house for the remainder of his quarantine. He returned to school on Day 11. Date was on a letter that the school nurse and principal provided. My vaccinated and boosted child and husband had negative home Covid tests and lived life as normal per CDC and school guidelines. My unvaccinated preschool child stayed home from school for 5 days, was away from the Covid sibling the entire time and went back to school with a negative PCR on Day 6. The school happened to have a teacher workday so she had 7 days away from her class.
