Some of the older schools have deeper financial aid funds because they have been around longer.  Think Ivy League vs colleges opening in the late 19th or early 20th century[/quote]

When you boil it down, it kind of is. They need a certain portion of the class to be full pay or full pay+, but for the rest all of the big names can afford to give as much aid as the need to get the kids they want. [/quote]

There are rules like the coaches can’t make first contact, but that’s about it. Recruiting in HS isn’t the same as college. Maybe they can get a leg up in admissions if they meet basic requirements.[/quote]
