Are these issues at all MCPS high schools? Probably because there’s little focus on a culture of respect for all individuals from elementary, middle, and high school. The true number of incidents are under reported because students are afraid of retaliation for reporting such incidents and principals don’t want a black mark on school reports.

Mrs. Heckert held meetings to gather input but did not implement action. There’s very little communication from Mr. Taylor so his approach to problems is to not gather input because he probably won’t like what students and parents have to say. One thing is for sure, the lack of integration of many students with disabilities even in elective courses, extra curricular activities, and grade level programs promotes a lack of understanding and unequal treatment of students with disabilities within the school community.[/quote]
