Average life expectancy was probably around there, but that was much more due to higher infant/child mortality and a greater risk of dying from infection/injury.  Maybe a slight drop from greater alcohol consumption but not much.

As long as you're not drinking enough to destroy your liver even a relatively spirited "partier" is probably only taking a couple years off their life.
