Some solid Jesuit schools there. Scranton can be pretty grey and depressing in the winter (except for Cooper's!), although skiing is close by. Loyola felt really dead to me when I visited on a Friday and I wrote it off at the time despite the nice campus. St. Joe's has the most interesting location, on the city border of Philly with easy access into Center City.
OP here. St. Joe's and Loyola have almost identical campuses. Both are on the edge of the city line. Both have a bridge connecting the residence halls to the main campus. Both have a mixture of old and new buildings. As for Scranton, any restaurant recommendations? I've never been there. Thanks for the info!
There are a number of solid downtown Scranton Restaurants. I generally prefer Tequila (Mexican), Bar Pazzo (Italian) and AV (also somewhat Italian but a lot of everything). For burgers and fries, try Coney Island Lunch. All of these are basically within walking distance of the University.
