[/quote] To get back to your original question, OP, I think there's an amplifying effect on the kids who attend the program. The ones that are doing well are gaining confidence and a secure sense of themselves as learners. When you see how much your child is benefitting from the program, you're willing to put up with a lot, including a long bus ride. Conversely, kids who are not doing well in the program suffer a blow to their self-esteem and sense of well-being. The long bus ride compounds those issues. This of course doesn't explain every case, but it's a common underlying factor.[/quote]
