Many people were very turned off by their actions last year. Now they are basically a lobbying organization getting ready to run a candidate for SB so they have formed all sorts of opinions on other things.

Some are pretty reasonable but these people don't have a lot of depth on the issues, so they get things wrong or miss the bigger needs. Overall they are a group of white high income families, and that really colors their views and advocacy.

Most candidates have lacked a lot of depth on issues.  Worse, they also just take a personal agenda and run with it or just repeat the popular things they think parents support.

I haven't joined or anything, but their AEM posts and newsletters are more informative than anything APS puts out.  And groups can evolve, especially after a hasty initial organizing around one urgent issue.  It takes time and good for them for continuing to advocate for the things they believe are important and would be in the interest of public education in Arlington.  Where are any other groups that started around the same time - Smart Restart?  and what are the critics on AEM doing?
