I was a teacher so it wasn't much of a salary I was giving up. I was also happy to leave the classroom for all the reasons everyone already knows about. [/quote] This is part of our society’s tendency to devalue work that involves caring for others, either young children or elderly people. Any SAHP is thought of as “less than” because we just don’t think highly of work that in the past was considered work that was done by women. [/quote]Exactly. Women complain how hard it is and than when a man does it, they make him feel like crap for it. It’s the same way women want respect for it, but than don’t respect anyone else for doing it. [/quote]
