I don't live in PG.  I have never lived in PG, but I do have family and friends who live in PG.  I don't recall one person trying to give the Johnson's a pass.  I don't recall one news report or article reporting what you just made up PP.  Frankly, I heard just the opposite.  People who lived in the county were disgusted, as they rightly should.  As for the political class, I don't think it was a matter of not wanting to criticize, I think they simply desired to remain moot, just like so many of our federally elected politicians throughout the country when someone on their side of the political divide is busted.
