Also, they were normal until the Republicans started gerrymandering all those other aforementioned states after the 2000 census.
Connie Morella (R) was gerrymandered out in 2003. Roscoe Bartlett (R) was gerrymandered out in 2013. Don’t pretend both parties do do this. And Maryland Democrats are trying to gerrymander the last Republican congressman, Andy Harris, out of office.
Both parties absolutely do this. The Republicans have trifectas in way more states so they do it a lot more.
I have personally worked on campaigns against gerrymandering, but I would happily compromise my ethics if it would get Andy Harris out of office. -One of his constituents
+1000 I would be THRILLED with a federal anti-gerrymandering law. I've actually done a lot of lobbying to try and get one. But short of that, I'm not going to be upset at Maryland. I've been gerrymandered out of Sarbanes district and into Andy Harris's. I can not WAIT to vote against that POS, and sure hope enough of my neighbors do too so that he'll be gone. (And I actually voted for Gilcrest when I was previously in that district)
