She would have won reelection in a landslide had she run again. Anyone who thinks otherwise is completely misinformed about DC politics. Her comments probably added to her potential votes in Ward 3.[/quote]
The bizarre and disingenuous reaction to her comments probably tipped her decision to call it quits. She’s basically spent her entire time on the council advocating against the interests of her constituents but she was still and continually vilified. I don’t blame her for quitting for realizing how broken the politics are that after her record on transportation and the Comp Plan and shelters these ungrateful people somehow manage to still sneer and vilify her for making a statement that should be uncontroversial: murder is bad. Turns out the DC activists are not objectively pro-murder. [/quote]
