I can only tell you to avoid the following, not because they are bad schools but because none seemed even remotely likely to be lax about masks anytime soon: Evergreen Montessori Spring Bilingual Montessori Academy Silver Spring Day School I actually really like all of these schools but I hate that the rhetoric has become so fixated on this idea that masks are fine, kids don't mind them (they're better at it than adults! which of course we're super sure of even if this hasn't actually been studied) and we have to keep them indefinitely otherwise the school is not safe.
The kid needs speech therapy and parents working with them at home. What happens when it isn't the mask, parents didn't get the kid help and they struggle even more as they get older due to the lack of help. OP, if you will not pay for ST, call Childfind. In MoCo, there is a mask mandate. You can also hire a nanny.
OP is trying to follow medical advice. No need for the pointless lecture. I hope you feel superior now
NP. A doctor is not a speech therapist. A child with speech delay should be receiving services from either early intervention or private speech and have the parents also actively working on it at home . Preschools and daycares follow county regulations. And the clear masks don’t really work in practice which is why they are not commonly used.
You're here accusing OP of not getting services (which, we don't know if they are or are not and it's not the subject of the thread) because you can't handle the possibility that masks might be harmful for some children. Pathetic.
What’s more pathetic is ignoring the fact that daycares are bound to follow county requirements.
That’s not what was said at the daycare forum, they said the county only offers guidance.
