We are on day 10 now for DD we have tested DS every day and DH and I tested the first 3 days and every other day since. All negative. DD has her own room but comes out with a mask to use hall bathroom. Nobody else is using that bathroom. All vaccinated and DH and I are boosted. Everyone told me it was too late and I agreed it probably was but we figured we’d try and as soon as a second person tested positive we’d give up. But nobody has and three of four are still negative as of yesterday, day 9, and DD was negative Friday, day 8, though continued to isolate as we tested at 7pm. Negative again yesterday so she came out with a mask for a little while. She will mask again today and then back to normal Monday. And going to school. Woohoo! DS is vaccinated but we kept him home until day 6 and we will continue ie to test him every day this week. Thank goodness for insurance reimbursement on home tests.
Op here. We just tested everyone and the rest of us are still negative. We also tested Covid child and he is still positive. He is Day 6-7 depending on when we consider Day 1. Covid child still has a cough and runny nose so we are continuing to keep him in his room isolating. I am glad my unvaccinated preschool child is still negative. She can go back to school this week.
I know you are just following the preschool’s rules, which you are absolutely entitled to do, but it makes no sense to me that your unvaccinated child is allowed back at school while you still have a symptomatic child at home. She could catch covid from him tomorrow. Some of these rules make no sense.
Fortunately we live in a 12,000sf so we have been able to isolate Covid child. He has been isolating in his own room. We have been bringing him food in his room and have been able to keep him away from the rest of the family. I believe technically he can come out masked but Dh and I decided to keep him isolated since he still has a cough. I don’t want him coughing around the house even in a mask.
