This plus violin, dance, piano, and good art/stem programs. An outdoor classroom, a garden, and maybe a few farm animals. Lots of field trips. Oh, and two languages: French and Spanish. Charlotte Mason-inspired. Preferably free. [/quote]

We have almost all of this at our (not DC) private.

No farm animals, but veggie gardening & lots of practical skills. 
3 recesses per day, including cycling. 
Spanish & Russian starting in PreK, German in MS. 
No uniform, but easy, simple solid-color clothing dress code. 
No piano, but strings starting in 3rd.

Unfortunately 80% of the other the parents are whack jobs and while the LS is lovely, most transfer out for MS to get more academic rigor. [/quote]
