Not at all a hypocrite.  Those schools provide an incredible education.  We don't know what he said to administrators.  Either way, he wasn't in a position to change the CRT teachings at his kids schools.  He is now for Virginia public school and he is making good on campaign promises.  [/quote]

Why are you prattling about "tolerance?" This has nothing to do with tolerance.

Did you just say "anti-racism" should be taught but then turn around and say "CRT is inherently racist against both whites and blacks?" No, it isn't. Teaching about systemic racism and how it affects society is not "inherently racist." Look, I realize you were probably raised by well-meaning white parents who taught you to be color blind and now might internalize the lessons of CRT. which causes you cognitive dissonance because you don't think you're a bad person or racist, and this is why you complain it "makes white kids feel bad about their skin color." But you really need to push past that and come to better understand how racist policies of the past still affect things today. That is not "inherently racist."  The reason you think it's "inherently racist" is because it makes you uncomfortable because it forces you to do some self-examination about your white privilege (yes, it's a thing).

The thing is, if we can embed this stuff in schools (age appropriate), we can eventually get to the post-racist society you seem to think we already exist in (because to it's not racist unless Klan hoods are involved, but you cannot see the more subtle impacts because you literally refuse to look).

No one really cares if it makes some white children feel bad about their skin color. That's not the point of it at all, but you carry on like it is. High schoolers are certainly more than capable of discussing this stuff rationally, provided they can push down their defensive reactions to it , stop taking it so personally (it really isn't about you -- no one actually cares about YOU) and open minds.

You make a lot of assumptions.  Racism is complex.  Yes there has been intuitional racism.  Guess what, it's been against Jews, Catholics, Asians, and all other non-blacks and non-whites.  Yet, CRT only focuses on the black experience and [b]paints ALL whites as inherently racist[/b].  This is simply not true and not ok.  CRT is being taught to middle schoolers.  Not age appropriate. Make no mistake I believe strongly that racism exists in all its blatant and nuanced forms.  I also believe that it's time to get over the idea that black people are the only ones who experience racism or that they are incapable of being racist themselves.  Yes, we should all examine our biases.  Yes racism is very real and evil.  But CRT just perpetuates racism and makes it worse.  [/quote]

It does no such thing. That's just the inference of deeply fragile white people who cannot get over their cognitive dissonance. See previous post.

The problem is that you as a white person are making this conclusion. Your conclusion is inaccurate, flawed, and colored by your emotion and inability to think critically. It threatens you, so this is your reaction. But what you say isn't actually TRUE. Nor is your opinion about this VALID.

I have no doubt that you, as a white person, are desperate for that narrative to be accepted universally. Because, again, you're making this all about YOU.

You THINK you're a good person and not racist. I believe you're probably a good person, but your inability to separate that from considering the possibility that you benefit from systemic racism is the problem here. Stop internalizing and making it about you. Once you do that, you might be able to drop your defenses and consider the theory a little more objectively.
