My family does Meatless Mondays.  This is mostly for me to get away from my husband wanting red meat almost every meal (tell your wife that and maybe she will consider herself lucky).

Maybe you guys could do a Vegan Monday?

And FWIW, everyone in my family likes different things.   Both my husband and I cook.    We often cook a primary meal item that we each like and then supplement with a couple of different veggies or a starch, etc.  So tehre is a pretty big choice at the dinner table each night.  And people eat what they want from that.

So a dinner might be the lemon garlic panfried salmon and asparagus I make, and my husband makes an okra/beef/tomato sauce dish he likes.  A salad, and sometimes I make a starchy side dish of some sort.   There are almost always two different proteins and two different veggies to choose from.

It absolutely is more work.  No doubt.  But fewer fights.   And the plus side is our kids love a bunch of different types of foods. [/quote]
