I’m get a lot of my reads from the “skip the line” section on Libby. I figure if it’s popular it must be good. I also listen to random great courses books. Right now I’m reading the Silent Patient, It happened one summer, and listening to a great courses lecture on the cognitive science of learning. You can also re-read the books you love. I go back to pride and prejudice frequently.
What's that? Is there a way to circumvent loooooong hold times? I recently read Richard Powers' Bewilderment. I liked it, although the Post didn't. He won the 2018 Pulitzer for The Overstory, and he's good! Now reading Jodi Piccoult's new novel about being stuck in the Galapagos during the pandemic, Wish You Were Here.
