OP here -- thanks for the responses, but I should have spoken more precisely, what I was talking about is the opposite thing, where I restrict my posts so that some of my FB friends cannot see them or comment on them. I am sure that several of my FB friends are not subscribed to my updates and don't see what I post. That doesn't bother me. But I did find out because of the "ticker" thing on the upper right hand side (we have a mutual friend) that a FB friend of mine posts all the time but I am not allowed to see what he posts. I will be honest, it hurt my feelings, and I don't understand why he wouldn't just unfriend me, except that that is considered sort of a throwing down the gauntlet move. I am considering unfriending him, because if he doesn't want me to see his posts, there is no point in being FB friends, am I right? Similarly, there are one or two folks who I have considered blocking from seeing my posts and I am wondering whether I shouldn't just unfriend them. For the moment I just have an acquaintances group and when I post something that I don't want all to see, I post it to "friends except acquaintances." But if I was doing that with every single post, I think I should just unfriend those people. FWIW, I don't use FB in any professional sense and I would really prefer to be able to "be myself" a little more. I'm sure I am overthinking this, and I know this guy and I can both use FB however we want, but I am just not seeing the point of keeping him as a FB friend if he can see my posts but I cannot see his.
