Your DC's experience may not be typical.  Mine is in a "GT" science class which is 60% or more comprehensive students.   The quality of the class is very low.  Even my DC, who is not interested in science at all, views it as boring and a joke (so I know it must be pretty painful to sit through) and pretty out of control.  Kids wander in, out and around during class and cheat relentlessly on assignments and exams.[/quote]
