Fortunately it's not the only issue that most DC voters care about, as most DC voters don't have kids in the public school system. So you can go ahead and cry all you want, but your one-issue self-centered voting isn't going to make an iota of a difference. Oh, and nobody "supports" school closings.
How is pp self-centered? I don't have kids in DCPS, my youngest graduated from HS last spring (and was in private anyway, so school was open in hybrid form all of last year). School closing is not the ONLY issue I care about as a DC voter, but it is still *A* issue I care about. Because I'm not self-centered and recognize the enormous negative impact of school shutdowns on children. Believe it or not, it is possible to care about issues even if they do not directly impact you. Just like how I'm past my child bearing years, but I still care about abortion access. I'm not gay, but I still care about marriage equality and equal rights protection for those who are. Shocking, I know. (Actually, it does kinda impact me. On a societal level, we ALL feel the impacts of kids being kept out of school. An uneducated society is not a promising one.)
