[/quote] You/your child should aim to be top 30 in the Junior Olympics or July Challenge this summer. Some of the top 30 are already in college which is why you don't need to be top 20 for example. Ideally you have been placing top 10 at recent national tournaments. To be a fencing recruit you need excellent grades to get into a top rated school - this is not football where you get a GPA pass. Recruiting starts right after Junior Olympics (and many people have built relationships long before this).[/quote]
