+1. With my older kid, we had spring break of Junior year. This time, it was summer before most schools restarted tours.  DD was able to take the last three weeks before senior year started and hit three clusters of schools that required flying, plus do the common app.  She’s hit four more since school started, and did her last one, which isn’t too far away, last weekend. If she’d been in marching band like her older brother and started that 8/1, she would have been screwed, since she’s doing SLACs that want demonstrated interest.  We’d be visiting now trying to finalize ED and RD.  And we may well be re-visiting if ED1 amd ED2 fall through.

Kids who did a bunch of EA schools are likely visiting or revisiting too.

Seriously OP— don’t be so judgmental. For a number of reasons, college apps have been very challenging for the Class of 2022. [/quote]
