$30 at least
is this a joke? From what this women desires she needs to be paying at least $40 an hour. She wants a housekeeper and nanny all in one.
+1. A housekeeper and nanny for three kids is going to be expensive. I would think 35-40$ per hour.
OP here. We are able and willing to pay whatever the going rate is for what we advertise. But really, $40 per hour? I'll obviously need to ask around more, and maybe hire an agency, to get this right. But to be clear, I don't think we're trying to combine two full-time roles here. When a nanny starts with infants or toddlers, and later stays with the family when the kids are in school, what does she do during the school hours? I just thought it would be typical to have a nanny, who during times when the kids are all in school, could help with some of the errands and light cleaning (not expecting cooking meals or serious cleaning like vacuuming or cleaning bathrooms . . . we'll have a cleaning service for that and DH will cook dinner). And during summer duties would differ (i.e., would be focused more fully on the kids), which I also thought would be typical. Thanks again for all the input.
You’ll be able to find someone between $25 and $30.
No she won’t. I’m making 27$ for 1 infant who sleeps most of the day no housework. Why would someone take the same pay to do housework and babysit?! For what she needs she should be paying 35$ minimum
Yes, she will. And as a nanny, you know she will find someone for $25 to $30 an hour. Someone will take the job to do housework and babysit because they can’t get the $27 an hour job. You know I’m right. “Should” has nothing to do with it.
