My dog had a bad, longtime case hookworms when I adopted him, so we had to give him a dewormer twice monthly. We alternated between Advantage Multi topical and Panacur in his food, giving him one or the other every 15 days. It took around 6 months of this regimen, but eventually, we got rid of the hookworms. Now he’s just on Heartgard once monthly for heart worm prevention. We use NexGuard for flea and tick prevention, but still make sure our dog receives the Lyme vaccination yearly.[/quote]
