Why are we treating mental health awareness as if it's a bad thing? It's GOOD to have a kid on your radar for potential mental health concerns so that they don't slip through the cracks and end up another statistic. This parent and this child's counselor are now aware that there is an area of concern and can address it. No, the school will not provide the actual therapy but they can do check ins, be there for the child during the day when they need help, and assist parents in locating the help outside school the child needs.
