Schools have long had the right to search lockers, backpacks, etc. The Supreme Court ruled on this in 1985. The school just needs a reasonable suspicion which they had due to OP's DD's behavior and circumstantial evidence. If OP says this to the principal she is going to look like an idiot and That Parent, trying to deflect a serious problem with her child by attacking others over nothing.[/quote]
