No. We write checks. Despite the annoying cheer leader SAHMs who have nothing better to do with their time.
C'mon, that's just mean. I hate fundraisers and we don't let our kids do them but I will give to the band kids, crew, girl scouts since these are my neighbors kids. However, this year is a big year for one DC and we wrote a check for all the festivities but you know what - a lot of kids could not. So, yes, some of us moms (I work PT so not always SAH) are trying to raise some funds so the class can go because if not everyone can go then no one can go. I have no desire to do this but I also know how much the kids want this as it has been a tradition at our school and this is the first class where the school budget and PTO funds could not support it. We are all busy people - why slam someone. For example, The kids get a t- shirt each year. Who do you think gets these done. The teachers don't have time. I run in on my days off and/ or between clients to get the money, get the kids signatures. I was so happy that my friend who is SAH can be there and follow through. A friend at another school has said they are behind on stuff like this because no one is in charge. someone has to step up and be a cheerleader for things or they fall through from year to year. I am sp happy that we have a few as they get things done for the kids. I am an introvert so I don't take the lead but if it is a good cause to me (books for library, language groups, etc) I am happy to help. There are annoying people asking to spearhead things in my work place as well!
