it is accurate, they just took it out of the DSM! they could change the name to High Functioning Autism but people complain about that as well. Anyway, [b]my understanding is that it is a program for kids on the spectrum who are on or above grade level and primarily need help with flexibility, social skills and organization.[/b] In MS and HS I assume they would mostly be in gen ed classes.  My understanding is that the “autism” classrooms in MCPS are for kids who are not on grade level/have lower IQ and verbal skills. [/quote]

Hmmm....my kid is like that, above grade level but have problem with flexibility, social skills and organization. I am looking forward to hear what teacher says about him on coming up parent teacher conference.

Anyone knows if I will get iReady or MAP reading/math or DRA reading level assessment results for kindergartener at parent teacher conference? I have 130 IQ score for my kid from children hospital, and they stop testing once they realize that he was only 5. I have not shared with the teacher or IEP about it because I am not sure if it matters or not.[/quote]
