and there’s massive job postings in the last few weeks. What happens when schools can’t staff enough teachers? Classes get bigger for those who still remain on the profession?
OR eliminate the 100% jab mandate.
nobody cares about this..its a non issue.
+1 Based on the percentage of vaccinated teachers I'd say that many were glad of the protection.
I’m a teacher and would leave if the shot was not mandated.
I'm a para and also agree. There is no way I'd work with an unvaccinated teacher. I don't know any school staff who have left because of the vaccine mandate but I do know a bunch of people who said they'd quit if it didn't happen, myself included.
Same. There is NO WAY that I would work with an unvaccinated teacher. I also feel strongly that masks need to stay on everyone until at least 90% of the children are vaccinated. That is my other non-negotiable. I will walk if masks come off before then.
I’m a high school teacher. Cases are low and most students were vaccinated before the beginning of the school year. I haven’t had any positives cases in my classes all year. I’m thinking about resigning if we have to continue wearing masks next year. I don’t want to wear them now.
I’m an ES teacher. We have ~950 students on our building. I think we’ve had 11 reported cases total. None of the students sent home from our CARES room (FCPS) have tested positive. Once all elementary students have had an opportunity to get vaccinated I honestly think we should be able to go mask optional, so I hope by spring. If not then, when?
I'm middle school. We are struggling with trying to keep 50% of the kids in school on any given day. And we have so many teachers out that most of us haven't had a day without split classes since September. I will walk too if we don't keep masks on until we're back at 90+% attendance for kids and staff. One of my best friends is K-5 and has less than 1/4 of her class in attedance on any given day.
Wow. DW and I are both in FCPS (I realize this is an “other than” board), but at our schools it’s barely been a blip on the radar. DW’s school has had 3 student cases. I don’t know if any teachers that have been out. Some students have been out, but I haven’t had any.
