I handed the reins over to the juniors for the clubs I was in charge of and focused on my job because I knew I was covering my own books/discretionary spending and I had my ticket out of town already in hand. I spent any spare time I had and applied for every scholarship I thought I could qualify for and cobbled together $25k towards my first year of college from organizations that gave me anywhere from $250 to $5k each. That plus a Stafford loan covered the entire first year. My parents were thrilled with me, not questioning my choices. [/quote]
