Yawn. The same things happen at the youth level in other sports both boys and girls. Remember the hockey stuff in Canada, Pen St and US Gymnastics? I guess you did not care about the hockey and Pen St stuff because it happened to boys? Those programs should have been shut down but they live on.

The belittling and verbal abuse happen all the time in youth soccer and it is done by male and female coaches. Why? because they are a product of the system.  That is how they were coached and that is how they will coach. I am sure what happened in the NWSL is happening in travel soccer now. This is where where the NWSL coaches came from.

The NWSL gets very little fan support. I doubt your daughter is upset about something she does not follow. There is a difference between being a fan of the USWNT and being a fan of soccer. My DD is actually a soccer fan. She follows the EPL, Bundesliga, La Liga, etc both male and female teams. I asked her if she ever talks soccer with her ECNL team mates. She says they do not watch or follow soccer. [/quote]
