I think it's like ionization. You put more energy into a system and atoms start losing their electrons. (Or so I recall from my mediocre chemistry education.) The more crazy you pump into our public narratives, the more of these kind mentally ill people hovering on the edge of polite society will break loose and do something terrible. [/quote]
