We’ve been told to go home and work from there until the end of time. I hate it though, I find it demotivating so my productivity and focus have dropped considerably. Are there offices you can rent somewhere in Arlington or thereabouts?
I'm curious about this: So it isn't the coworkers you miss, but the office furniture? The institutional bathrooms?
NP here - I miss getting dressed and leaving my own home, stopping for coffee on the way, and then being in a office with other grownups who've also gotten dressed and left their homes. Yeah I do miss my coworkers too but I can't do anything about that. I can do something about the being home 24-7 problem - also looking for an office like OP.
You know you can get dressed, get coffee and leave your house (oh, and have actual friends) every day without going into the office, right? You sound like a middle manager.
Leave my house and go where to work for 8-10 hours? It's not just about leaving my house and wandering Target like all the middle aged moms do, it's about leaving my house and going somewhere where I can productively work - and no I'm not parking myself in a coffee shop or public library for 10 hrs/day. And friends and coworkers are two different things. I have friends. I'm not seeing them at 11 am on a Tuesday because they have jobs too, maybe yours don't? I talk to coworkers about things we work on, which my friends rightly have no interest in as I too am not interested in their work. What is so hard to understand here??
