What about the way they were holding the backpack when sitting?  Men don't do that.  A man would have left the backpack on his lap if he was trying to protect it.  Otherwise it would have just set it on the bench next to him.  Men don't really set their bags on the ground and then keep their hand on them like that.[/quote]

It's time we stopped thinking that behavior is gendered like this. I have seen both men and women walk and hold bags like this. I understand that to initially narrow down a search, you can try restricting certain parameters, but for a computerized search, which presumably has a powerful algorithm behind it, I hope they can then branch out to include both genders.[/quote]
