OP: Yes! We spend money when we have a reason: ski trips out west, new kitchen, etc. But my “diamond” studs are fake because they look exactly like the real ones. [b]I will spend money on a car if there is a reason[/b] (beyond trying to impress people). Rode in a friend’s Mercedes recently and there was nothing that floored me. The Ascent is 50 something. OP, it seems you have some pretty strong feelings about the type of car you would be interested in, driven by your actual utility needs and your sense of personal value. Therefore, asking other people what they would buy is a pointless exercise because you are not interested in exploring beyond your comfort zone. Your original post may read like you are looking for an automotive fling, but you are really just shopping for your next automotive appliance. So it's better if you just let us know what your needs are and we can recommend a suitably milquetoast vehicle.
