I wouldn't criticize anyone for doing this if they didn't have the money for a certified tutor, but please realize that to get certified you get quite a bit of training. In addition to two MEds I also spent an entire summer tutoring with Wilson with a Wilson trainer who observed frequently and gave feedback and led many sessions for training. It was an arduous process to get certified and I can't imagine that just ordering the materials and giving it a go would yield the same deep understanding that I have, for most people. [/quote]

If I had unlimited funds I would have paid a tutor everyday but I don’t. OG tutors want $80-100 an hour and only working for 30 minutes at one house isn’t worth it for most. My son could only work for 30 minutes at a time. Of course I wasn’t as good as a certified tutor but it is  scripted program. I studied the teachers guide and watched YouTube videos.
