Actually, entertainment is exactly what sports at this level are. Why do you think stadiums are filled with spectators and broadcasters compete for the television rights? It’s entertainment and a lot of money is made from that entertainment.

I don’t feel “owed” anything, but the fact is that professional sports exists because people enjoy being entertained by watching them. If athletes want to play for their own enjoyment, that’s fine, but they’re not going to get paid unless they are entertaining for spectators to watch.
