Can we PLEASE not go through another 23 page thread of why Vienna is or is not a good place and the same with McLean. Seriously. You surely have read enough about these two areas.
+1 Not everyone is obsessed with status and marginally better GS ratings/US News rankings. Some people just want to walk to Taco Bamba and enjoy ViVa Vienna in peace.
+1 Vienna has sidewalks, real walkability (not taking your life in your hands), and actual places that you and your family would care to walk to. Done.
+2 We didn't look at McLean when we moved because Vienna was a better commute compromise between partners, so I can't partake of the McLean bashing, but Vienna's been good for us, for the most part. We have had some really great neighbors, and the ES school was been great for one kid but not for the other (now in MS and both well-served. Pre-COVID, we did walk into town, to the library, get food, etc. and also bike the W&OD trail a lot. I think the food was better in Falls Church (where we moved from), but Vienna's food scene has gotten better. I second Taco Bamba, though they need to bring the Eden Center taco back to the menu.
