Rain is forecast for Monday through Thursday of next week. Let's watch Smart Restart heads explode. If only we knew what would happen if kids were unmasked at school, like in an entire densely populated 1st world country?!? Oh yeah, we have one that doesn't mask kids at school at all, the UK: https://www.nytimes.com/2021/08/27/us/students-masks-classrooms-britain.html
Or like in South Carolina where an entire county just went virtual because they don’t mask and too many cases of Covid in elementary school.
An entire country's kids don't mask at school, but solely because 1 elementary school in SC didn't mask, COVID spread. LOL Great logic there. Even the CDC's own study of school COVID mitigation methods found no statistical difference between kids masking and not masking. That probably explains why an entire country's kids (plus many kids throughout the US and the world) don't mask at school and are fine. https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/70/wr/mm7021e1.htm
I can’t access the article, but it looks like the UK had other measures in place, like regular testing. Does your school conduct regular testing?
Regular testing, universal healthcare, paid time off when adults get sick, and multiple other differences that impact why we mask in US schools and not in other countries.
The only testing mentioned in the article to prevent transmission at school were at home tests, which they say compliance for which was very spotty. LOL - "Universal health care" and "paid time off when adults get sick" -> that is a completely new reason anyone has ever mentioned for why kids have to mask (and would be politically toxic). And "multiple other differences"?!? The CDC's own study showed there was no statistical difference in kids masking. And there are also the Scandinavian countries that don't mask kids in school. COVID doesn't transform itself in Europe. Same virus.
