The Slate article doesn't do that. Correctly or not, the Slate article calls Santorum a hypocrite, not a weirdo or anything similar. Someone publicly supporting a policy - especially a candidate - is fairly subject to an examination of his past behavior for comparison. * If that's what Robinson was doing. I think it probably was at least in part, but he may also have just been acknowledging a harsh political reality, just like one could say that Obama's race is a hindrance without being a racist.[/quote]
