Narcissism among women is so common but never discussed. The friend who copies your lifestyle but puts you down. The friend who never reaches out to ask how you’re doing after a tragedy. The friend that only calls when they want to vent about their day but never will ask you about yours. The friend that uses you for social gains. They’re different variations of narcissism among women.
Wow, I thought I was the only one who had experienced that friend who "copies your lifestyle but puts you down." I really struggled with it because it clearly stems from jealousy and insecurity, but it also feels awful when it happens, especially if you made the mistake of thinking it was a genuine friendship. I've never met anyone else who had described it like that though, and had started to think that it was either unique to this one friend of mine, or that I was misinterpreting her actions because it was so weird. It's actually a relief to hear someone else describe it exactly like that.
