I was once on the phone at the gym, talking into my earbuds, in the outdoor area away from everyone else. I was talking to my mom who was super upset about something and I said something like "Mom, I'll take care of it" or whatever, right as a trainer walked by. After I finished he came over and asked if I was on the phone. I said yes, talking to my mom. Then I went to workout. For the next TWO YEARS, I went to the gym 4 days a week, always wearing earbuds to listen to podcasts. And literally every single time I saw him he'd give me a wink and say "Always on your phone!!" Even shouting it across the gym if I was far from him. It was so annoying but I think he thought we had some sort of inside joke or something. Just social awkwardness. [/quote]
