Of course it’s a cold, idiot!  That’s not in question.  And pre-covid times this would not have been a big deal.  But it is now.  Every child your kid gave her cold to must be covid tested as well as the parents.  Preschool will not let kids back unless they have no symptoms.  Daycares will insist on a test at least.  Parents will have to miss work.  It’s a big deal now.

Eh, I think we are helping our kids by barricading them from germ exposure now.  Covid testing is more than just an “extra hassle”.  It’s unpleasant if not painful and scary to little kids and they have to stay out of daycare/school until the results are back as well as the parents missing work.

There are lots of outdoor things you can do with a toddler that doesn’t involve being around other kids for a couple days (I know.  We did it just two weeks ago when our toddler had a cold).
