It makes it easier to make sure your centered in any parking spot
Plenty of people can do this without a camera.
The PP didn't say you NEED it to park. Just that it makes it EASIER. Goodness you sound like my elderly relative who didn't understand why we needed email when she could just write a letter and mail it.
No. Most of the cars I’m looking at have the camera. I honestly have no idea when I would use it. In typical suburban driving, can you please give me some examples of when I would use it? It just seems gimmicky to me.
When. You. Go. In. Reverse.
I already have a regular backup camera. No one seems able to articulate what’s better about 360 other than just saying they like it.
I mean what is there to articulate? What are the reasons you like (if you do) like a backup camera? I like the 360 camera in my Telluride because it has alerts to go along with the 360 view. When I put the car in reverse it monitors all around the vehicle. If I am driving below 12 mph and I have it on (which I always do) it is monitoring the vehicle. So say I pull out into the street into oncoming traffic, it will alert if a car is coming. Mine also comes on when I turn on my turn signals (at any speed) so I can see cars beside me, that may possibly be in my blind spot. I’ve only had my Telluride a month so I can’t yet speak to all the benefits of the 360 cameras but I do think it a great driving enhancement. The only draw back I would say it that these cameras really hinder new drivers. My 18 year DD has never driven a car without a camera and really struggles backing up without one. Even though she was taught to drive to not look at the camera (DH covered the camera when teaching her to drive).
