Now a US gymnast tests positive. How many people will be allowed to compete in a week's time?
It was an alternate…and one who has a unvaccinated roommate. What a mess.
No athlete, coach, parent, etc. who is unvaccinated should be allowed to participate.
I'm fearing a break out with swimming after one guy stated he didn't get the vaccine for fear it would mess with his training. I wonder what he will say if positive cases mess with his gold medal chances, and prevent relay team participation.
I read an interview with that guy, and he sounded like a selfish, first-class idiot. Is the gymnast who tested positive the one alternate who is not vaccinated? And if not, did the Olympic organizers really give an unvaccinated athlete a roommate? WTH?
The person who tested positive is not the one who was not vaccinated at the time of trials. It is being reported that the unvaccinated gymnast is the roommate of the gymnast who tested positive.
