Hello 2021 MCM Event Runner,

Runners, we are, as you are, excited to be back on the road! We also understand that at times your plans and situations change, so we want to provide you with some options for transfer and deferment of your current active entry.

PLEASE – read completely and do not overthink the options we are presenting. We further ask that you do not recall or refer to what the MCMO kindly did for runners in 2020, as we all know that was an 'event' all its own.  Here are your options and the step-by-step instructions for you to take action as you see fit.

Transfer, from Runner to Runner

You can find and transfer your current entry to another runner. You will need the new runners Name and Email address to accomplish this. The MCM does not transfer money, just the registration for the event. There is a fee to do the transfer ($50 for Live MCM and MCM50K events, $25 for MCM10K and all Virtual events). You can choose to pay the fee or have the new runner pay the fee, that option will be provided when you initiate the transfer.  The deadline to transfer is September 17, 2021.

Here are the step-by-step instructions:
Runner-to-Runner Transfer

1. Go to https://manage.hakuapp.com/login/marine-corps and login to your participant account
2. Click 'Your Registrations'
3. Click 'Edit Registration'
4. Scroll and click 'Registration Options' (bottom right side of the page)
5. Click 'Transfer'
6. Enter the name and email address of the person you wish to transfer registration to
7. Select the option to pay the transfer fee or to pass on the transfer fee to the new runner, click "Transfer and Pay $" or "Transfer and Pass Fee" (green button).
At this time, the original runner is removed from the event and placed in the transfer file. The new runner will receive an email with a customized link to complete the transfer.
Deferment, from 2021 to 2022

Runners, this option is ONLY for those in the Live MCM or MCM50K events. Please know that once you defer from 2021, this entry MUST be used in 2022. There is a re-registration process that will take place in early February 2022. You must ensure that you keep your email address current within your registration account, as that is how we will contact you when it is time to register.  Last day to defer your entry is September 17, 2021

Here are the step-by-step instructions to defer to 2022:
1. Go to https://manage.hakuapp.com/login/marine-corps and login to your participant account
2. Once logged in, click on "Your Registrations" on the top of the page
3. On the right side of the tile for your registration, click on "View Registration"
4. At the bottom, click on the grey button labeled "Registration Options," and then click on "Defer for future"
5. Once you click "Defer for future" a pop up will display reminding you of the conditions of your cancellation. When you're ready, click the green button labeled "Defer."

* The fee to defer is $80.00
