Holy god. The whole entire Trump fiasco - his “win,” his horrible governance that just really exposed every weakness in America - was just Russia’s retaliation for sanctions against Moscow. We lost nearly a million people, had white supremacists elevated, our government destroyed and a million other things. “The document seen by the Guardian suggests the security council’s real, covert purpose was to discuss the confidential proposals drawn up by the president’s analytical service in response to US sanctions against Moscow.” Republicans: hang your heads in shame. And then shut off your “news” sources for a few weeks to recuperate.
The GOP were every bit as compromised as Trump. Remember, the GOP mail servers were hacked the same time the DNC was hacked. The DNC material was weaponized and leaked via wikileaks (remember Trump touted wikileaks like 200 times over the summer of 2016?) - the RNC materials? Likely held over their heads. I am going to posit that the 2000 and 2004 elections were also rigged for the GOP, as well as several Senate races, and that would be in the RNC hack, which is why the whole party has closed ranks on this.
This is what I have said on here for years. I realize that it might seem like a tenuous connection to this subject, but what else is a large enough “sin” to get the entire GOP on board with shackling itself to Russia? It would have to be an enormous thing that the GOP has done. Far too many times to be statistically probable, races that were polling nearly even or in which the Democrat was ahead has gone for the Republican candidate, a phenomenon I have noticed for nearly 20 years. I think that some of the machines, notably Diebold and ES&S, were rigged to provide a GOP win in specific places, and that they did so in coordination with the GOP. I cannot think of another, big enough reason that the GOP - people with whom I formerly disagreed - would turn traitor.
