Unless you have some prior shoulder issues from something else, push-ups are very safe and low impact. [/quote] They are actually very hard on my lower back. I could do all kinds of exercises to work up to doing more, but I would have to spend a lot of time and effort on that instead of exercises that will fulfill my fitness objectives more efficiently. I can do flips with my kids at the trampoline park, do cardio for an hour a day, lift some free weights, and my vitals are excellent. I’m not missing out by not doing more than five or so push-ups.
